Gentle Care Home Services

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Gentle Care Home Services licensed?

At Gentle Care Home Services, we ensure that we meet all legal standards and hold the necessary licenses in line with local and state regulations.

How do we get started?

Reach out by email or phone (706-799-1015) to let us know your needs. We'll arrange an in-home assessment or consultation with you and your family at a time that works for you. Together, we'll identify your specific requirements and create a personalized care plan. One of our experienced registered nurses will complete your free initial assessment.

How do you screen your caregivers?

We only hire candidates who pass a series of comprehensive pre-employment assessments evaluating dependability, integrity, and potential for abuse. Every applicant must complete a thorough criminal background check and DMV record review, and we verify both professional and personal references. In addition, each new hire is required to have current car insurance, workman's compensation coverage, and full insurance, along with completed Social Security and I-9 verifications. We also maintain a drug-free workplace.

Does this service cost anything for the family?

No, you won't have to pay anything. We use GAPP, which means our process is fully covered without any cost to eligible patients.

Is there a minimum number of required days and/or hours of service?

We provide a minimum of one hour per visit. If your needs require more time, additional hours and days can be added — even up to full-time coverage, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Will we have to sign a long-term contract?

Gentle Home Health Care doesn't tie you down with a long-term contract — you only pay for the actual hours your caregiver is in your home. Instead, you'll sign a Service Agreement that clearly outlines the services we'll provide, along with the days and times you select. Because your needs can change over time, our nurse remains available to reassess your situation and offer guidance on adjusting your care. You're free to change or stop services at any time without incurring any penalties.

What type of special needs children do we serve?

We provide care for medically fragile children, including those with conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and muscular dystrophy.

Is there a waitlist for your services?

No, there is no waitlist for our in-home care services.

How long does it take for Medicaid to approve in-home care services?

It typically takes about 30 days for Medicaid to approve nursing services.

When are you available for nursing care?

We offer nursing care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We can provide both daytime and overnight services, tailoring our care schedule to your needs.

What kind of services do your caregivers provide?

Our nurses are equipped to support all aspects of everyday living. They assist with routine tasks like doctor's appointments and bedtime preparation, as well as specialized care including medication assistance, G-tube feedings, trach care, ventilator care, and more.
